Mueller Table

A silver maple dining table with a fixed gap down the center of the top and exposed through-tenon joinery.

Silver maple
The Mueller Table in a bright room — a silver maple dining table whose top is split by a deliberate gap down the center, standing on figured silver maple legs over an oak floor.

The Mueller Table is a custom dining table made entirely from silver maple — no stain. The wood’s own range, from pale sapwood to the darker, streaked figure in the top, does all the work, so the piece reads in one material from top to legs.

The joinery is meant to be seen. A cross member runs through the frame as an exposed through-tenon, and the top is split by a deliberate gap down its center — a fixed detail, not a mechanism. Everything is cut and fitted by hand; no shortcuts, no hidden hardware standing in for a real joint.

Like everything we make, it was designed, milled, joined, and finished by the same two hands from start to install.
